Whip In Hand is Mary Wing To, an Artisan Leather Designer/Whip Maker with a deep passion for craftsmanship.
Having trained under the eye of the Queen’s Master Saddler and Harness Maker
at Buckingham Palace, Mary’s work is dedicated to preserving the traditions of Leathercraft. Mary uses traditional techniques to sculpt, carve, mould, dye, cut and
hand-stitch to create luxurious whips.
Mary was awarded from the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) which allowed her to take her skills to new heights, training in traditional whip making with renowned Master Whip Maker Dennis Whalmsley.

who make whips for a living. Sadly Dennis passed away and so I
set up my brand ‘Whip In Hand’ - offering full service, bespoke luxury whips
from my London workshop in honour of his incredible talent".

A Luxury Bespoke Hand-crafted Leather Dressage Whip

Hand-crafted in it’s entirety with a traditional rattan cane stock with a natural twine fall. Hand-braided in a 12 strand kangaroo lace, luxurious saddle-stitched black alligator hand part with engraved silver collar and silver cap end presented in a bespoke leather case.

A Luxury Bespoke Hand-crafted Leather Whip

This fantastic deluxe whip was commissioned for double Olympic showjumping champion Nick Skelton CBE, on his retirement from an illustrious 40 year career at the very top of his sport.

The whip is hand-crafted from scratch, The Rattan cane selected and tapered down, manually heated and straightened, then sanded to a fine finish. The Kangaroo lace, is cut from a full hide, hand skived, braided, and edge dyed, then rolled flat on glass.

The whip is finished with a saddle-stitched black alligator hand part with engraved silver collar and silver cap end, presented in a bespoke leather case.
